Hello all,
KN4UDS and a few others of us at NOARC are looking to set up a 6 Meter Repeater. We already have cans. We pretty much need everything else. Ideas are welcome!

DJ,
Will this be a FM voice repeater or is there interest in repeating other modulation and data types?
Thanks,
Steve

@n4sfs-2 We are still in the infantile planning stage. Original thought process is to do voice but we are open to suggestions and guidance.

Just a thought but unless there's a shortage of FM voice repeaters on 2m and 70cm, I thought maybe 6m would be good for digital repeater modes like SSTV, packet, or something that would be nice for event/incident support. Bringing an image in for the wider audience than a simple line-of-sight signal.

I don’t think adding support for digital modes prohibits use for voice if needed. The TOT setting would just need to be set to allow up to 2-3 minutes of re-transmission. The modulation linearity would also need to be checked more closely I think. I’ll do some more digging but a local 6m machine would be great.

I wonder what happened to the old 6m repeater in Ft Walton Beach? FASMA.org lists one managed by the now cancelled Antonio L Davila KC4YBE, 5 Hampton Ct, Mary Esther, FL 32569.

I wonder as well. Thank you for that information. This might be a plausible reach out for guidance. I have also been reading https://sites.google.com/site/kl4yfd/home/8psk/6-meter-digi-repeaters and learning a few things.
